My vegan journey, Part 1: before veganism

   I don’t talk about my veganism much. There are a lot of reasons for this, including personal morals, misperceptions of others and as bad as it may sound, emotional exhaustion. But because of suggestions from other people, I’ve decided to talk about it anyway. Knowing that people want to hear about this has brought me to the decision to talk about it openly and honestly, so I hope you all enjoy.

A dozen things I learned from my best relationship ever

  So I’ve had a couple relationships, and struggles that came with them. I am now coming to terms with the fact that I am in so much love with someone who, frankly, pushes me to expand how I see life. My partner can be annoying, loving, comforting, and all of the above in the span of a day, and so far this has been the best relationship I have ever had. I’ve learned so much over these past couple years, and I would really like to share some of the lessons with you.

A Treatise on Normalcy

  Back in the olden days, there were strict rules and expectations on everyone. Young people, old people, regardless of gender or race or anything, there were different sets of expectations that you were supposed to follow. And for the most part, people did. In a way, it was integral to society, that everyone knew what they were going to do and be for their whole life. Some of it was steeped in prejudice, some of it was down to tradition. These days, society as a whole is becoming more tolerant and open-minded.

  This week, I am celebrating one year of running this site. I’m so proud of and grateful for the journey that this has been—with all of you reading and growing with me. I wanted to write a blanket thank-you. You know, the sort of speech an actor might say when accepting an award or something. And although I’m just a regular person who hasn’t won any awards, I hope you’ll listen anyway. Because one of my thank-you’s just might be for you.
